Central Electricity Generating Company Signs MoU with Jordan Environment Society

Underscoring the importance of public-private partnerships (PPP) and emphasizing its firm belief in supporting eco-friendly projects, Central Electricity Generating Company (CEGCO) has recently inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Jordan Environment Society (JES) to join the JES recycling program. The agreement was signed by CEGCO CEO, Dr. Moayad Samman, and JES CEO, Ma’en Nasayreh, at the CEGCO headquarters.

By virtue of the agreement, the JES will collect and sort paper, carton, plastic and metal waste generated by CEGCO to be reused and recycled - in coordination with the Greater Amman Municipality. Through this step, CEGCO will serve as a strategic environmental partner and will be invited to participate in the annual green activities organized by the JES.

“We are pleased to partner with the Jordan Environment Society, which plays a leading role in implementing nationwide environmentally-responsible projects like its recycling program. Under this collaboration, we will be actively helping to preserve and protect the environment, while encouraging other national institutions to follow suit and support vital initiatives that promote a greener Jordan,” stated Dr. Samman.
